Stack's Bowers 2021 ANA sale, lot 44254

This specimen was lot 44254 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. Gold 10 Yuan, 1993. Peacock Series. NGC MS-64. A fully prooflike strike with reflective fields and frosty devices." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more. This one features peacocks and accompanied a similar ¼ oz gold NCLT (KM 596). It is mentioned in the SCWC but without a photo.

Recorded mintage: unknown but all proofs.

Specification: 3.11 g, 0.999 fine gold, 0.10 troy oz AGW.
