This specimen was lot 3405 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $1,410. The catalog description[1] noted, "China. 100 Yuan, 1993. Panda seated on rock. Small date. In original holder. Gem Uncirculated." The Chinese government has, since the mid 1980's, produced a mind boggling array of bullion related collectibles. A complete set is thousands of types yet buyers clamor for more.

Specification: 31.1 g, 0.999 fine gold, 1.000 troy oz AGW.
