This coin features a dragon clutching a colored maple leaf hologram, encircling a red Swarovski Element crystal. As per the Royal Canadian Mint, 'The dragon is one of the most revered and significant symbols of Chinese culture, a celestial and supernatural power associated with countless legends. He symbolizes success, good fortune and wisdom, his greatest gift. The magical dragon always evokes the emperor, the ruling class or the supreme power. He can become invisible or change size and color at will. The dragon also rules the seas and guards a precious treasure buried in the depths... the pearl. According to Chinese culture, the pearl symbolizes perfection and absolute wisdom. It must therefore remain with the dragon who, like the emperor, spreads great "pearls of wisdom" while ensuring the abundance and prosperity of Canada's new generation of immigrants.'"
