Canada 2008 dollar KM-495
This specimen was lot 71208 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Dollar, 2008. Ottawa Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Another RARE variant issued in silver for the Wedding Sterling Silver coin set, this piece mirrors the regular striking, making it an important piece for the collectors of Canadian coinage. From the Mayer Collection of Canadian NGC Registry Sets." The regular "loonie" was struck with this bust of the queen 2003-12.
Recorded mintage: 29,561,000 in bronze plated nickel plus proofs.
Specification: 7 g, 0.925 fine silver, 0.208 troy oz ASW, 26.5 mm diameter. The normal alloy is bronze plated nickel.
