Stack's Bowers 2019 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71206

This specimen was lot 71206 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2019), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "CANADA. Dollar, 2007. Ottawa Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. A RARE variant issued in silver for the Wedding Sterling Silver coin set, this specimen features the normal 'loonie' design, but struck in silver rather than the normal composition. From the Mayer Collection of Canadian NGC Registry Sets." The regular "loonie" was struck with this bust of the queen 2003-12.

Recorded mintage: 38,045,000 in bronze plated nickel plus proofs.

Specification: 7 g, 0.925 fine silver, 0.208 troy oz ASW, 26.5 mm diameter. The normal alloy is bronze plated nickel.
