Canada 2009 150 dollars KM-867
This specimen was lot 3218 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 450 € (about US$583 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Canadá. 2009. Isabel II. 150 dólares. Año del Buey. En estuche oficial con certificado [year of the ox, in official box with certificate]. AU 0,750. Proof." This denomination was first used in 1990 for a half ounce platinum coin (KM 176). This series of Chinese zodiac coins with hologram reverses commenced with the Year of the Dragon in 2000 (KM 388) and ended with the Year of the Rabbit in 2011 (KM 1053). As a whole, they did not sell well, perhaps because Asian buyers prefer 0.999 fine gold.
Recorded mintage: 486.
Specification: 11.84 g, 0.750 fine gold, 28 mm diameter, hologram reverse, this specimen 11,90 g.
