This specimen was lot 73265 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 6 Mariengroschen, 1746-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS AU-53. Only lightly handled, this highly original minor sports a rather elegant iridescent tone accentuating the devices upon each side. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This denomination was one-sixth of a thaler or one quarter gulden. This type was struck 1735-80 and is common. Mintmaster IBH appears 1739-62.
