This specimen was lot 73264 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. 6 Mariengroschen, 1741-IBH. Zellerfeld Mint. Karl I. PCGS MS-61. An exceptional example of the minor denomination, sporting an elegant tone that intensifies around the devices. Meanwhile, the surfaces remain pristine and without evidence of handling, making this a tremendous opportunity for the specialist seeking a Mint State representative. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This denomination was one-sixth of a thaler or one quarter gulden. This type was struck 1735-80 and is common. Mintmaster IBH appears 1739-62.
