This specimen was lot 55512 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Brunswick. Taler, 1716-HH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. Extremely Fine Details -- Tooled, Cleaned. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection. Includes ticket from Dr. Busso Peus Nachfolger." This thaler, struck 1714-30 for August Wilhelm, is scarce. A thaler with a leaping stallion reverse (KM 758/Dav-2127) was also struck in 1716.
