This specimen was lot 71502 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel. Taler, 1717-HH. Zellerfeld Mint. August Wilhelm. PCGS AU-50 Gold Shield. Emanating from the popular 'wildman' series, this crown-sized issue offers some enchanting steel gray toning with golden hints and luster sprinkled throughout. Some minor striking weakness is noted, but is wholly consistent for the type." This type is listed for 1714-30 and, while not rare, is not common either. The leaping stallion type (Dav-2127) is also listed for 1717.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: Dav-2126; KM-739.
