Sincona sale 22, lot 1133

This specimen was lot 1133 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 750 CHF (about US$942 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Wolfenbüttel, Herzogtum, August Wilhelm, 1714-1731 Vierteldukat 1717. Braunschweig. Vorzüglich-FDC. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel, Augustus William, 1714-31, quarter ducat of 1717, Brunswick mint, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type of 1717-18 is scarce but is slightly more available than most other gold issues of this locale.
