Künker sale 354, lot 5477

This specimen was lot 5477 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €440 (about US$612 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, FÜRSTENTUM, August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. 1/8 Reichstaler 1666, Zellerfeld, auf seinen Tod am 17. September. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines Ingenieurs. Exemplar der Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 34, Osnabrück 1996, Nr. 2909. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, one eight thaler of 1666, Zellerfeld mint, on his death on September 17. Rare in this quality, extremely fine.)"

This commemorative was accompanied by a quarter thaler (KM 475), half thaler (KM 476) and thaler (Dav-6376).
