Künker sale 293, lot 531

This specimen was lot 531 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG UND LÜNEBURG, BRAUNSCHWEIG-WOLFENBÜTTEL, HERZOGTUM August der Jüngere, 1635-1666. Reichstaler 1666, Zellerfeld, auf seinen Tod. Hübsche Patina, kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (duchies of Brunswick-Luneburg and Brunswick Wolfenbuttel, Augustus the Younger, 1635-66, thaler of 1666, Zellerfeld mint, on this death. Handsome patina, small edge defects, very fine to extremely fine.)"

A scarce one year type, with a matching eighth thaler, quarter thaler and half thaler.
