This specimen was lot 4054 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it sold for $17,550. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States - Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. 6 Taler, 1666-HS. August II, 1634-1666. On his 88th Birthday. Obverse: Bust facing under crown and wreath held by female figures. Reverse: Circle of shields with horse over helmet in center. 6 stamped at bottom. Very Rare. NGC graded Extremely Fine, Details (Mount Removed, Cleaned)." On this occasion, one, two, three, four and five thaler pieces were also issued.
