This specimen was lot 74532 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2023), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1698. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg Ludwig (future George I of Great Britain). NGC Genuine--Stained, AU Details. Lightly worn with argent-gray toning outside of the stained area. Ex: Wolff-Metternich Collection." This type was struck 1698-99 only. After 1700, we drop the "Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg" and call the state "Hannover" altho this wasn't made official until 1813.
