This specimen was lot 795 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €2,800 (about US$3,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRAUNSCHWEIG-CALENBERG-HANNOVER, AB 1692 KURFÜRSTENTUM HANNOVER, Ernst August, 1679-1698, seit 1662 Bischof von Osnabrück. Reichstaler 1698, Clausthal, auf seinen Tod. R Feine Patina, vorzügliches Prachtexemplar. (Germany, electorate of Hannover, Ernest August, 1679-98, thaler of 1698, Clausthal mint, on his death. Scarce, fine patina, extremely fine proof example.)"
