Sincona sale 11, lot 2334

This specimen was lot 2334 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR/ÖSTERREICH Ferdinand II. 1618-1637. Taler 1621, Hall. Selten Min. Zainende. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (Austria, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1621, Hall mint. Rare, nice extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1621-23. In addition, other Austrian thalers for 1621 include Dav-A3147, Dav-3100, -3329, Dav-3328, Dav-3330, -3102, Dav-3115, -3116, -3120, -3121, -3076A and -3118. Quite a challenge for those used to collecting neat rows of Lincoln cents.
