Sincona sale 39, lot 3851

This specimen was lot 3851 in Sincona sale 39 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$480 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Ferdinand II. 1618-1637 Taler 1621. Graz. Sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, thaler of 1621, Graz mint, Very fine.)"

Altho it is a one year type, this product of the Graz mint is only slightly scarce. Other Austrian thalers for 1621 include Dav-3076 (Vienna), Dav-3100 (shown here), Dav-3102 (Graz), Dav-3114 (Prague?), Dav-3115, Dav-3116 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3118, Dav-3119 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3120 (Klagenfurt), Dav-3121, Dav-3125 (Hall), Dav-A3125 (Hall), Dav-A3147, Dav-3328 (Hall), Dav-3329 (Hall), Dav-3330 and several double thalers.
