Künker sale 386, lot 5502

This specimen was lot 5502 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €2,600 (about US$3,360 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. Doppelter Reichstaler 1621, Graz. R Herrliche Patina, min. Glättungsspuren, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, double thaler of 1621, Graz mint. Rare, superb patina, traces of smoothing, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This rare type accompanied a single thaler (Dav-3100). Other double thalers for 1621 include Dav-3301A, -3117 and Dav-3339.
