Sincona sale 97, lot 1947

This specimen was lot 1947 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 325 CHF (about US$472 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Ferdinand II. 1619-1637. 1/2 Taler 1621, Wien. Münzmeister Matthias Fellner. Gutes sehr schön. Feine Patina. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1619-37, Good Very Fine, Nicely toned.)"

This type was struck 1620-24 for emperor Ferdinand II at Vienna. It is often confused with KM 447, which depicts archduke Leopold and was struck at Hall.
