The first specimen was lot 6339 in Ponterio sale 155 (Baltimore, November 2010), where it sold for $201.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Guanajuato. 8 Reales, 1844-PM. Ex: Ponterio Auction #146, lot #500 where it hammered for $220. CHOICE BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED." For 1844, the SCWC lists this date as common.
