Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 73235

This specimen was lot 73235 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 10 Centavos, 1887-Mo M. Mexico City Mint. NGC MS-63. Crisp and dazzling, this enchanting minor sports a subtle steely gray tone along with opulent brilliance." This is a common date of a type struck at Mexico City 1869-97. Varieties include an 1887/6 overdate, which receives no premium in the SCWC.

Recorded mintage: 580,000.
