Künker sale 335, lot 4654

This specimen was lot 4654 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,486 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Ferdinand II. 1592-1618-1637. Doppelter Reichstaler 1624, Wien. RR Hübsche Patina, sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-37, double thaler of 1624, Vienna mint. Rare, handsome patina, very fine.)"

This double thaler is very scarce but not extremely rare like most multiple thalers. Other Austrian single thalers for 1624 include Dav-3104, Dav-3078, -3106, Dav-3123, -3144, -3146, -3146A, -3104A, -3330A, Dav-3092, -3080, -3081, -3083, Dav-3084, Dav-3085, -3086, Dav-3087, -3087A and Dav-3330.
