The first specimen was lot 408 in Goldberg sale 136 (Los Angeles, September 2023), where it sold for $1,260. The catalog description[1] noted, "Iran. Toman, AH1333 (1914). Ahmed, 1909-1925. Bust with plumed hat. Reverse: Legend. PCGS graded MS-62." The second specimen was lot 1203 in Sincona sale 85 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,145 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"IRAN, Sultan Ahmad Shah, 1327-1344 AH (1909-1925). 1 Toman 1333 AH (1914/1915 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. NGC MS62+. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 231. Finest certified by NGC."

This type was struck AH 1332-1343 during the reign of Ahmad Shah (r. 1909-25), the last Qajar shah. He was officially overthrown in 1925 but had left Iran in 1923 for Europe, never to return.

Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.

Specification: 2.87 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.083 troy oz AGW, 19 mm diameter. the second specimen is 2.88 g.
