This specimen was lot 76565 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. 5000 Dinars, AH 1333 (1914/15). Tehran Mint. Ahmad Shah. PCGS AU-55. This handsome nearly-Mint crown offer across the surfaces a rich tone, with soft reds, blues, and yellows, with sharp details and much eye appeal. From the Richard Margolis Collection." This type was struck AH 1331-1344. This denomination was also struck in gold (KM 1071).
