Stack's Bowers May 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 33148

This specimen was lot 33148 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $660. The catalog description[1] noted, "CHINA. 5 Yuan, 1993. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Horse statue." This NCLT features a unicorn statue of unknown era. Other five yuan issues for 1993 include KM 469, KM 473, KM 483, KM 488, KM 489, KM 490, KM 491, KM 492, KM 530, KM 531, KM 532, KM 533, KM 545, KM 546, KM 567, KM 568, KM 569, KM 576, KM 577, KM 578 and KM 583.

Recorded mintage: 2,000.

Specification: 15 g, 0.900 fine silver, 0.434 troy oz ASW.
