This type was struck at Chihuahua 1844-45 only, with assayer RG listed for both. This specimen was lot 8117 in Ponterio sale 159 (Baltimore, March 2011), where it sold for $862.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Chihuahua. 1/2 Real, 1845-CaRG. VERY RARE. VERY GOOD." Most Chihuahua minors prior to the 1870's are scarce to rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.69 g, 0.903 fine silver, .049 troy oz ASW.
