This specimen is a slightly scarce date of a series struck 1898-1904 at the Culiacan mint. This ten centavos piece replaced the upright eagle type issued 1869-97. “Round Q, single tail” and “oval Q, double tail” varieties are recorded for the year but the SCWC prices them the same.
