The first specimen was lot 43133 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Constitution. Bell Metal 2 Sols, Year 4/1792-M. Toulouse Mint. Louis XVI. PCGS AU-50. Lightly circulated and with some slightly different hues upon the higher points, this wholesome specimen features a charming portrait of the monarch. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Glendining's in 1991 for $80). Ex: Glendining's (4/1991) Lot # 805 (part of)." The second specimen was lot 43134 in the same sale, where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Constitution. Brass 2 Sols Restrike, 'Year 4/1792-M' (ca. 19th Century). Toulouse Mint. Louis XVI. PCGS MS-64. Displaying rich yellow hues and intense luster, this restrike stands as an exceptional specimen of resounding quality across both sides. From the Richard Margolis Collection (acquired from Jean Vinchon in Paris on 8 February 1972 for $56)." This coin was minted at Toulouse during the throes of the Revolution. 1793 was the year the king was tried and executed. Amid the chaos, large quantities of these copper two sols were issued, along with six and twelve deniers (¼ and ½ sols). The 1791-93 issues bear the bust of the king but his ouster forced the removal of his portrait. This type was hurriedly and crudely made and is rarely found better than Very Good.

Recorded mintage: 969,441, a somewhat better date.
