This specimen was lot 1210 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 375 CHF (about US$471 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, Herzogtum, Georg Ludwig (Georg I.), 1698-1727 Taler 1713. Clausthal. Gutes sehr schön-sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George Louis, 1698-1727, thaler of 1713, Clausthal mint, good very fine.)"
This type was issued 1711-13 (confusingly, the SCWC does not list a 1713 issue). Leaping stallion thalers were issued from this locality as late as 1760. George Ludwig was promoted to king of England on the death of his cousin Anne Stuart in 1714. This is the period when the electorate ceased to be known as Brunswick-Luneburg and called Hannover instead.
