The first specimen was lot 1211 in Sincona sale 22 (Zürich, May 2015), where it sold for 270 CHF (about US$339 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Braunschweig-Lüneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, Herzogtum, Georg Ludwig (Georg I.), 1698-1727 Taler 1713. Zellerfeld. Sehr schön-gutes sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover, George Louis, 1698-1727, thaler of 1713, Zellerfeld mint, very fine or better.)"

The second specimen was lot 41357 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $408. The catalog description[2] noted, "GERMANY. Brunswick-Luneburg: Hannover. Taler, 1713-HH. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg Ludwig (future George I of Great Britain). PCGS Genuine--Tooled, Unc Details. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." This type was issued 1712-15. Wild man thalers were issued from this locality as late as 1760. George Ludwig was promoted to king of England on the death of his cousin Anne Stuart in 1714. This is the period when the electorate ceased to be known as Brunswick-Luneburg and called Hannover instead.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, this specimen 28.97 g.

Catalog reference: Dav-2066; KM-77, Welter 2144.
