This specimen was lot 345 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €380 (about US$512 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1754, B, Breslau. Confusingly, the photo in the SCWC shows a reverse with "6 EINEN THALER" rather than "VI EINEN THALER".

Künker sale 293, lot 345

This specimen was lot 345 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €380 (about US$512 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH Friedrich II. der Große, 1740-1786. 1/6 Reichstaler preuß. 1754, B, Breslau. Sehr selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Feine Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick II (the Great), 1740-86, sixth thaler of 1754, Breslau mint. Very scarce, especially in this quality. Fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1752-59 and 1763-64 from Berlin, Breslau (shown here), Cleve, Stettin, Magdeburg and Königsberg. Confusingly, the photo in the SCWC shows a reverse with "6 EINEN THALER" rather than "VI EINEN THALER".

Recorded mintage: 910,702.

Specification: 5.34 g, .521 fine silver.

Catalog reference: Olding 39 b; Kluge 91.2, KM-269.
