This specimen was lot 23333 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $240. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. 1/2 Escudo, 1862/1-GoYE. Guanajuato Mint. PCGS MS-61 Secure Holder. Pleasing quality, possessing bright tone over the surfaces and bold dentilation at the edges that attractively frames the central designs. The finest graded example of this date at PCGS." The Guanajuato mint struck half escudos 1845, 1849-63 and is generally considered a slightly scarce mint.

Specification: 1.69 g, .875 fine gold, .049 troy oz AGW.
