The first specimen was lot 4586 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 850 CHF (about US$1,233 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Zug, Stadt und Kanton, Halbdicken 1621, Zug. Variante mit kleiner Büste. Selten. Gutes sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Froidevaux, Auktion SINCONA 6, Zürich, Mai 2012, aus Los 2663. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zug, half dicken of 1621, Zug mint, variety with small bust. Rare, Good Very Fine.)"

The second specimen was lot 5590 in Sincona Auction 102 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 3,375 CHF (about US$5,087 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ. Zug. Stadt und Kanton. Halbdicken 1621, Zug. Variante mit grosser Büste. Mitrierter Kopf des hl. Oswald teilt die Vorderseiten­umschrift. Selten. Flaue Stellen. Sehr schön. (Switzerland, city and canton of Zug, half dicken of 1621, Zug mint, variety with large bust. Obverse: mitred head of St. Oswald interrupts the obverse legend. Rare, Some weakly struck areas, Very Fine.)"

A half dicken was twelve kreuzer or one-sixth of a thaler. This type is noted in the SCWC for 1620-21 and is listed as scarce. The figure on the obverse is St Oswald, a British king who converted the Northumbrians.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specifications: 3.7 g, silver, 28 mm diameter, the first specimen 3.76 g, the second specimen 3.49 g.
