The first specimen was lot 4523 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €400 (about US$524 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH. Wilhelm I. 1816-1864. 10 Kreuzer 1818. Prachtexemplar. Feine Patina, fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, kingdom of Wurttemberg, William I, 1816-64, ten kreuzer of 1818. Cabinet piece, fine patina, about uncirculated.)"

The second specimen was lot 3568 in Künker sale 440 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €2,200 (about US$3,027 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I., 1816-1864. 10 Kreuzer 1818. Stempelschneider Johann Ludwig Wagner. Mit WÜRTTEMBERG auf der Vorderseite. Sehr seltene Variante. Min. berieben, vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Meister & Sonntag 10, Stuttgart 2010, Nr. 1383 und der Münzhandlung Sonntag 25, Stuttgart 2017, Nr. 1365. (kingdom of Württemberg, William I, 1816-64, ten kreuzer of 1818, with WÜRTTEMBERG on the obverse. Very rare variety, lightly polished, extremely fine.)"

The third specimen was lot 3570 in the same sale, where it sold for €850 (about US$1,169 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"WÜRTTEMBERG, HERZOGTUM, SEIT 1806 KÖNIGREICH Wilhelm I., 1816-1864. 10 Kreuzer 1818. Stempelschneider Johann Ludwig Wagner. Mit später beginnender Vorderseitenumschrift und der Lorbeerkranz auf der Rückseite mit doppelten Früchten (44 Beeren). Sehr seltene Variante. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. Erworben im März 1992 aus dem Lager der Kreissparkasse Esslingen. (kingdom of Württemberg, William I, 1816-64, ten kreuzer of 1818, with a late-starting obverse inscription, and the laurel wreath on the reverse featuring 44 berries. Very rare variety, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This is the first ten kreuzer of the new king and is scarce despite the substantial mintage. The denomination was terminated in 1823.

Recorded mintage: 152,000.

Specification: 3.90 g, 0.500 fine silver, the first specimen 3.77 g, the second and third specimens 3,99 g.
