This type was struck in Madrid 1814-33, in Seville 1815-33 and in Cadiz 1810-12. This specimen is a product of the Catalonia mint (Palma de Mallorca) and is rather scarce. Lower in fineness than contemporary Latin American issues, they were discounted in international trade. A rare variety exists with the assayer's initials reversed as "FS".
