Sincona sale 35, lot 5332

This specimen was lot 5332 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 2,600 CHF (about US$3,086 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Solothurn, Dublone 1787. Vorzüglich-FDC. Überdurchschnittliche Erhaltung. (canton of Solothurn, duplone of 1787. Extremely fine-uncirculated, Better than average.)"

This rare type was accompanied by quarter (Fr-393), half (Fr-392) and double duplone (Fr-390).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 7.64 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 7.62 g.
