Sincona sale 98, lot 4451

This specimen was lot 4451 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 525 CHF (about US$762 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Solothurn, Stadt und Kanton, 20 Kreuzer 1787, Solothurn. Schräg gerippter Rand. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. FDC. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, twenty kreuzer of 1787, Solothurn mint, obliquely reeded edge. Rare in this condition, Mint State.)"

In Germany, the convention thaler was 120 kreuzer but 160 kreuzer in Switzerland. The reverse motto, "CUNCTA PER DEUM", translates as, "United by God." This type was also struck 1794-95.
