This specimen was lot 2524 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen, Herzogtum, ab 1547 Kurfürstentum, ab 1806 Königreich, Friedrich August III. (I.), 1763-1827. Dukat 1765, Dresden. Kahnt (Sachsen) 1045. Buck 129 b. Fr-2871. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick August III, 1763-1827, ducat of 1765, Dresden mint. Rare in this condition. NGC MS62.)"
This type was struck 1764-68 for the young elector. The regent Xaver also had some ducats struck with his portrait (Fr-2870).
