Sincona sale 19, lot 1035

This specimen was lot 1035 in Sincona sale 19 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 7,000 (about US$8,772 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "5 Kopecks 1924. Brilliant uncirculated." In 1921, having defeated all its internal enemies, the Bolshevik regime resumed the issue of silver coinage of ten kopeks up to a ruble. In 1924, this bronze five kopeks was added, along with a one, two and three kopeks.

Recorded mintage: 88,510,000.
