This specimen was lot 25466 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $833.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "U.S.S.R. Proof 15 Kopeks 1925, Proof 64 NGC. Brilliant white obverse with a hint of golden toning on the reverse." This type is listed for 1924-31 and is common in all grades but the proofs are rare. Succeeding types are copper-nickel.
Recorded mintage: 112,709,000 plus a few proofs.
