This specimen was lot 25467 in Heritage sale 3019 (Chicago, April 2012), where it sold for $2,760. The catalog description[1] noted, "U.S.S.R. Proof 50 Kopecks 1925 ПЛ, Proof 65 Cameo NGC. Fully mirrored fields with nicely frosted devices and a few light marks." This type is listed for 1925-27, during a brief breathing spell when the regime struck silver coins.
Recorded mintage: 43,558,000 plus a few proofs.
