This specimen was lot 40774 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $1,840. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1915-BC. NGC MS-63." In 1886, the ruble was reduced to 20 grams after having been fixed at 20.73 grams since 1798. This rare date is the last of the type. Losses in World War One would soon topple the regime.

Recorded mintage: 5,000.
