This specimen was lot 40768 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ruble, 1912-EB. NGC MS-65." In 1886, the ruble was reduced to 20 grams after having been fixed at 20.73 grams since 1798. This is the last common date for the type, which ended in 1915. The two commemoratives of 1912, Dav-296 and Dav-297, are both rare.

Recorded mintage: 2,111,000.

Specification: 20 g, 0.868 fine silver.
