This specimen was lot 34534 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $300. The catalog description[1] noted, "Russia: Nicholas I 5 Kopecks 1826 CПБ-HГ MS64 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Incorrectly listed on the holder by NGC as Alexander I. A bit of striking weakness with minor obverse flan flaw." Two types of silver five kopeks were struck in 1826; C126, wings up, struck 1810-26; and C156, with the eagle's wings down, struck 1826-31. An 1826/5 overdate is noted for the wings up type.

Recorded mintage: 1,340,000 (including C156).

Specification: 1.036 g, 0.868 fine silver.
