Sincona sale 84, lot 265

This specimen was lot 265 in Sincona sale 84 (Zürich, October 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUSSIA Russian Empire and Federation, 20 Kopecks 1826, St. Petersburg Mint, SPB NG. Very fine."

This type was struck 1810-26 and is fairly common. Mid year, the reverse was modified to show the eagle's wings down (KM C158); which type is slightly scarcer for 1826.

Recorded mintage: 2,815,000 including 1826/5 and KM C158 (wings down).

Specification: 4.14 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 4.06 g.
