This specimen was lot 954 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "PRUSSIA: Friedrich Wilhelm IV, 1840-1861, AE 2 pfennig, 1853-A, a lovely example, PCGS graded MS63 BN, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck at Berlin and Dusseldorf 1846-60 and no dates are rare. This and all other minor coinage were rendered obsolete by the reform of 1871.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a common date.
Specification: 3.04 g, copper, 20 mm diameter.
