This specimen was lot 97 in Künker sale 400 (Berlin, February 2024), where it sold for €4,800 (about US$6,227 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm IV. 1840-1861. Friedrichs d'or 1851, A. GOLD. Seltener Jahrgang. Vorzüglich. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William IV, 1840-61, frederick d'or of 1851. Very rare, extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1841-52 and was the next to last of this denomination. All were made at Berlin.
