This specimen was lot 4107 in Künker sale 353 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €160 (about US$223 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm IV. 1840-1861. Taler 1853, A. Vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 309, Frankfurt/Main 1984, Nr. 1381. Der vorliegende Talertyp ab 1853 mit älterem Porträt. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William IV, 1840-61, thaler of 1853, with modified older portrait. Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1853-56. This is a better date of a common type. It is the last thaler struck in 0.750 fine silver.
