Künker sale 294, lot 3555

This specimen was lot 3555 in Künker sale 294 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,146 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"BRANDENBURG-PREUSSEN, PREUSSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1797-1840. 1/2 Friedrichs d'or 1817, A. GOLD. Sehr schön +. (Germany, kingdom of Prussia, Frederick William III, 1797-1840, half frederick d'or of 1817. Very fine or better.)"

This halb friedrichs d'or accompanied the regular friedrichs d'or (Fr-2426) but was struck 1817 only.
